2017 has been a whirlwind year for us. We’re making great strides towards being the trusted leader for innovative, quality, and value driven coffee grinders for the Specialty Coffee market.
As our sales have grown so too has the demand on our resources, across the board at Baratza – Sales, Marketing, International Operations, Support, Services and Shipping, plus Manufacturing. In response, in the last 12 months, we almost doubled our employee team from 9 to 15 and boy had it become cosy in our Bellevue location! So finally, after 18 years of operations we are moving into a new location in another area of Bellevue. We will have a lot more space for our support center, service, shipping, and video production, plus a dedicated test/lab space. We are so excited for all the possibilities that this opens up for us to better support our resellers and Baratza end users.

We now have 13 people in Bellevue, 4 in Northern California and 1 in Taiwan – check out our new team page for everyone’s bio! Many of our new employees have come from a background in Specialty Coffee, which has enhanced our understanding of how our grinders are used for different applications – home and café. Their knowledge and expertise has helped us provide better solutions to our customers.
We launched the 3rd grinder in the Sette Series, the Sette 30 – a fantastic entry-level espresso grinder. It’s been a real winner for our customers in the US and Internationally. The Encore and Virtuoso continue to be the grinders of choice by so many of our customers, deservedly so. This is backed up by in-depth reviews such as this recent one from The Wirecutter, a division of the New York Times – The Best Coffee Grinder .
In Taiwan, we have restructured our manufacturing. We have moved to a new facility, purposely planned for the assembly of our 3 lines of grinders – Encore/Virtuoso, Vario/Forte and Sette Series. This move was effective November 1.
So, you can see that it has been a big year for us! With these positive changes Baratza is doubling down on it’s commitment to provide an enjoyable, profitable and valuable experience for our customers, resellers, partners and employees. Every day we renew our promise to create value and to provide quality products and to help maintain the ritual of grinding fresh for better brewing!
