Baratza Guarantee

WHAT IS COVERED

Sage Appliances GmbH and our Affiliates including but not limited to the brands Beanz, ChefSteps, ControlFreak, FoodThinker, Lelit, Sage Appliances, Sage Commercial and others (collectively “Baratza,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) offers a 2-year limited manufacturer guarantee (“Guarantee”) for all Baratza products against defects caused by faulty workmanship and materials. This Guarantee covers products purchased in countries listed under “Support by Country” on the Baratza webpage. During the Guarantee period, Baratza will repair or replace a defective product at its sole discretion.

 

HOW LONG DOES THIS COVERAGE LAST

Baratza guarantees this product in specified territories for 2 years from the date of original purchase of this products. The Guarantee period may be greater for some appliances or for some parts of appliances.

 

WHO IS COVERED

Baratza grants these Guarantee only to the first-time purchaser (end consumer). The Guarantee will not be transferred upon resale to subsequent owners or purchasers. If a product is replaced under the Guarantee, the original warranty period will not be extended. The invoice date of the original purchase applies.

 

Baratza products covered by this commercial Guarantee are intended for private household (non-commercial) use only. Any other use, including, without limitation, (i) any corporate, commercial, office, shop and/or store usage of the Baratza products and (ii) purchases made under invoices that exclude the VAT from the total amount, shall not be covered by this Guarantee.

 

In addition, there may exist an extended warranty on certain parts for individual products.

 

LIMITATION OF LIABLITY

Baratza shall not be responsible for any incidental or consequential damages. Some countries, districts, or states do not allow the limitation or exclusion of relief, incidental, consequential, special, or indirect damages, or the limitation of liability to special amounts, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.

 

WHAT IS NOT COVERED

 

IMPORTANT RESTRICTION

Baratza limits the Guarantee service for Baratza products to countries where Baratza sells directly to end consumer and listed under “Selected EU Countries” on the Baratza webpage.

  1. This guarantee is in addition to rights provided by consumer laws.
  2. This Guarantee does not apply to the following:
  3. Damage or defects consisting of normal wear or tear resulting from normal aging of the Baratza product or accessory; the replacement guarantee also excludes breakages and consumable items;
  4. Superficial damage, including scratches, dents, oxidation and deformed plastic, unless the defect is present on a newly unboxed product and reported within the right to withdraw period;
  5. Transport damaged goods;
  6. Modifications, alterations or repairs unless directed by Baratza and performed by an authorized Baratza service partner;
  7. Damage resulting from accidents, misuse or improper use, unusual storage or environmental conditions, force majeure or other external causes;
  8. Damage due to improper use of the Baratza product in accordance with the Baratza product user manual and specifications;
  9. Malfunction or damages due to lack of maintenance, e.g. not cleaning your product.
  10. Baratza products that have been modified without the express consent of Baratza;
  11. Baratza products whose serial number or product label has been removed or misappropriated.

 

HOW TO OBTAIN OUR SERVICES

Baratza will repair or replace the item at its sole discretion. We will not issue a refund for the item to you.

Consumer law rights you may have against your contract partner are not affected by this Guarantee. This Guarantee is the sole and exclusive one. No employee, agent, dealer, or other person is authorized to alter this Guarantee or make any other Guarantee on behalf of Baratza.

 

FOR GUARANTEE PROCEDURE DO NOT RETURN PRODUCT TO A RETAIL SHOP

BARATZA GUARANTEE PROCEDURE

To obtain the benefit of this Guarantee, please follow the procedure below:

A claim of Guarantee service takes place after a case is created with Baratza customer service (contact information: www.baratza.com/en-nl/support-by-country ).

Submitting for repair or replacement is free of charge for the customer if the service is requested in the country in which the device was purchased.

 

Please follow these instructions, subject to the terms of the Guarantee, to receive faster service:

  1. Write down the product model number and serial number. These details can usually be found on a sticker or moulded into the product housing and are typically located underneath or on the back of the product.
  2. Have the original or a copy of the sales receipt available.
  3. Contact Baratza Customer Support through our website.
  4. If the product, or one of its parts, qualifies for replacement or service under the Guarantee, Baratza will issue a Return Authority number and a pre-paid shipping label via email so that the product may be sent to Baratza at no cost to you. Baratza will not accept any returns without prior approval. Upon receipt of the product, Baratza may ship the replacement or contact you with further information regarding repair of the product. Typical turnaround time to address Guarantee claims is up to 15 business days, plus shipping time, depending on your geographical location and type of damage or Guarantee claim.
  5. A Baratza product is considered DOA if it shows symptoms of an equipment failure, preventing basic operability, when you first use it after opening the box. If you believe that your product is DOA, please contact Baratza within 30 calendar days of the invoice date. Baratza will determine whether the product is DOA and will arrange for the DOA product's return and ship you a replacement product at Baratza’s expense.
  6. For additional protection of the product and to ensure secure handling while a product is being returned for any Guarantee repair, Baratza recommends that you use Baratza’s shipping label or a traceable, insured delivery service. Baratza is not responsible for any damage while a product is in transit.
  7. During the Guarantee period, Baratza will repair or replace a defective product at its sole discretion. However, if the product includes a number of accessories, only the defective part or accessory will be replaced.
  8. Baratza reserves the right to make minor adjustments instead of replacing the product or accessory. Packaging, instructions, recipes etc. will not be replaced unless faulty.
