What’s the issue with static?
Grinding coffee is an inherently messy business and we’ve done what we can to reduce discharge on your counter. With most coffee beans the static on the Sette is very minimal. Certain coffee beans can be much worse than others. We have two approaches to dealing with the mess. One is we are continuing to refine the discharge passage to produce just the right amount of restriction as the coffee leaves the burrs. This is really the ONLY universally agreed upon solution to grinder static reduction across the entire grinder industry. The second is we have developed a semi-flexible matt that nests into the flat area below the grounds bin or PortaFilter and captures most stray coffee powder. The matt is then easily removed to dump the grounds in the garbage/compost bin (or into your coffee receptacle).
